    • CLEVELAND, George Vernon ? age 87, Yarmouth, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at home. Born February 5, 1933 in Norwood, Digby Co., he was a son of the late Vernon and Dorothy (Brittain) Cleveland. George was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, and was very proud of his family. George was retired, having worked with MT&T for many years. George loved the outdoors, spending much of his adult life as a hobby farmer, raising cattle and growing gardens every year. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a long time sports fan, watching hockey and closely following the Yarmouth Mariners. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean L. (Meuse) Cleveland, as well as by their sons, Gregory Cleveland (Hazel Smith), Yarmouth; Randall ?Randy? (Jean) Cleveland, Carleton and Wade (Kathy) Cleveland, Yarmouth; grandchildren, Kieron, Tristyn and Amber; and a great granddaughter, Clementine. Also surviving is a sister, Vivian Kennedy, Yarmouth and a brother-in-law, Wally Fahie, Saskatoon. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Gerald Cleveland and a sister, Mae Fahie. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson?s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. There will be no service at this time.
