    • Legere - The death of Edmund "Ned" Joseph Legere of Saint John occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, September 19, 1999. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late Leo and Lillian (Quinn) Legere. A beloved husband and devoted father he will be missed by wife Amelia "Toby" (Tobias); daughters, Therese "Trez" Legere at home, Michelle (Ronnie) Culbert, son Edmund (Kelly) Legere all of Saint John; four grandsons, Ryan, Shamus, Jorden and Alexander; four sisters, Frances (Doug) Murphy, Kay Williams of Saint John, Elizabeth (Paul) Reid Huntsville, Ont., and Sr. Therese Legere, Sydney, N.S.; three brothers, Barry (Pat), Paul (Michele), Fredericton, N.B. and Michael (Valerie). Many nieces and nephews.

      Edmund had been employed as a bookkeeper/auditor before his retirement having worked for Emmerson Fisher, Admiral Beatty Hotel and the Saint John Dry Dock. He had a love of music and had played the drums for over 30 years with a number of local bands. A faithful member of St. Joachim's Church he had been a Sacristan, Greeter, member of the Gentlemen Altar Server and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #8364.



      Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joachim's Church on Wednesday, September 22, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. Visiting on Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Interment to take place at a later date.
