He was a veteran of the Second World War having served in the Royal Canadian Artillery and the Royal Canadian Engineers. He worked the majority of his life as a carpenter. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, grandpFre and grand-grandpFre. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, the former Florence Amirault; children, Louise (John) Belliveau, Middle East Pubnico; Julien (Shirley), Lower East Pubnico; Henry (Ann), Clementsport; Joe (Irene), at home; Helena (James) Nickerson, Lower East Pubnico; Gene (Darlene), South Range, Digby Co.; LeRoy (Robyn), Lower East Pubnico; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Adele Comeau, Meteghan; Anne Marie (Isaac) d'Entremont, Lower West Pubnico; Helena (Joseph) Burke, Shelburne. He was predeceased by brothers, Vincent, Lin, Leon, Reginald; sister, Geraldine, and an infant son and grandson. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:30-9 p.m. with a Legion service at 7:30 p.m., and Monday 9-9:30 a.m. in West Pubnico Funeral Home, Middle West Pubnico. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Middle East Pubnico, with Msgr. Gerald LeBlanc officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery.
