Wedgeport - We regret to announce the death of Russell Atkinson of this village who died at the Yarmouth Hospital in the afternoon on November 1st, at the age of 74. The deceased was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Atkinson of Clark's Harbour, County of Shelburne. He leaves to mourn his wife, born Jennie Cottreau; three sons, Owen, Chester and Felton, all of Wedgeport; two daughters, Mrs. Henri E. d'Entremont, Leonora, and Mrs. Agnes d'Eon of Middle West Pubnico; one brother, Rupert, of Clark's Harbour; one sister, Mrs. Russell Hopkins, Rita, of Clark's Harbour. By his first marriage, he also leaves three daughters, Mrs. Richard Surette, Rose Marie, of Wedgeport; Mrs. Edward Nickerson, Rose Emma, of Wedgeport; Mrs. Gerald MacKenzie, Corinne, in Belgium. He was grandfather of 25 children. The funeral was held at Saint Michael's Church on Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m., with mass celebrated by Father Edouard Thériault, priest.
