- TAUNTON - Rena Ann (Ferreira) Clark, 60, died on Sept. 9,2009 due to complications of diabetes.
Born at the former Mount Hope Hospital in North Dighton, Rena was the daughter of B. Evelyn (Rounds) Ferreira of Taunton and the late John Thomas Ferreira.
She graduated from Bishop Cassidy High School in 1966 and Southern Massachusetts University in 1970.
She taught English in the Freetown-Lakeville school system from 1970 until 2005, when she retired due to poor health.
Rena enjoyed reading, theater and being with her family.
For 20 summers, she was the general manager of the Silver City Children?s Theater, a group for aspiring performers from 6-17 years of age.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband Philip, her daughter Andrea (Clark) Pope, her son-in-law Thomas, her grandson Sammy, as well as her daughter Kristin (Clark) Vaughan all of Taunton.
She also leaves her brother John Thomas Ferreira, her sister-in-law Marie, and their son Brett, all of Berkley, in addition to many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Friday, Sept. 11th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Jude the Apostle Church at 10 a.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Cremation will follow.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Sept. 10th from 4 to 7 p.m.
