    • Mr.Melvin Mickelson was born June 21, 1908 at Lago, a son of Michael and Sarah Harris Mickelson.
      He was found on the banks of Trout Creek where had went to trap muskrats, doing one of his favorite hobbies.
      He was married to Mary Banks on April 24, 1935 at the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
      He spent his entire life at their home in Lago where enjoyed dairy farming, hunting, fishing and trapping. As a young man he worked with his father at the Lago Saw Mill.
      He attended elementary school at Thatcher, graduated from Central High School at Thatcher and attended Utah State University for one year. He was a High Priest in the Williams LDS Ward. He had served a three-year LDS Mission at the Western States Mission. He had served as Bishop of the Lago Ward for 11 years.
      He helped organize the Lago Cemetery District and had served as chairman of the school board. He had served as Stake Sunday School superintendent and was on the High Council. For the past 28 years he has been the Patrarch of the Grace Idaho Stake.
      He is survived by his wife of Lago; one son and three daughters, Michael Joe Mickelson, Boise, Mrs. Boyd (Mary Jane) Ruud, Lago, Mrs. Rjay (Sara Ann) Lloyd, Boise, Mrs David (Betsy Lynn) Stoner, Sandy, Utah; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Harris Mickelson and Clark Mickelson, both of Lago, Reao Mickelson, Soda Springs and Franklin N. Mickelson, Mesquite, Nevada.
      He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Mendenhall and Estella Weaver and two grandchildren.
