- Leominster Man Dies In Accident
Leominster - Police, early today, recorded the city's second auto fatality of 1968 following a single car accident on North Street which claimed the life of Guerrino A. Baldarelli, 44, of 395 Hamilton St. According to police, Baldarelli was traveling east on North Street when the car ran off the road some 150 feet east of Cullen Avenue and struck a tree shortly after 2 a.m. The victim was alone in the car at the time of the accident, and taken to the Leominster Hospital in the municipal ambulance where he died shortly after being admitted. According to police he suffered compound fractures of the face and nose, a crushed right chest and multiple compound fractures. Patrolman Ronald F. Cormier investigated. He was born in Fitchburg, Nov. 28, 1924, the son of the late Rudolph and Mrs. Virginia (Contessa) Balarelli Maretto and the late Rudolph Baldarelli. He was a self-employed plasterer. A veteran of the Army and the Navy, he served in the Navy from May 6, 1941 until December 1941. He was discharged as a seaman second class. He was inducted into the Army at Ft. Devens, May 4, 1943 and received his discharge Oct. 5, 1943.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Bernadette (Leger) Baldarelli, his mother; three brothers, Joseph and Levio of Farrell, PA., and Rudolph Baldarelli of Fitchburg; four sisters, Mrs. Paul LeBlanc, Mrs. Lawrence Zarella of Fitchburg and Mrs. Mario Brazili, and several nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Leominster Lodge of Elks. The funeral will be from the Aubuchon Funeral Parlors, Fitchburg, Tuesday at 10 a.m. with a Solemn High Mass of Requeim in St. Leo's Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fitchburg. Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. (Fitchburg Sentinel, Aug. 3, 1968, p. 1)
22. Writ Filed
Atty. Robert B. Bowen has started legal action against Allen Held of Leominster for the administrator of the estate of Guerrino Baldarelli as the result of an automobile accident, which occurred on North Street, Leominster, Aug. 3, in front of the Held home which claimed the life of Mr. Baldarelli. The writ is returnable in Superior Court, Worcester, Dec. 2. (Fitchburg Sentinel, Nov. 6, 1968, p. 26)
