- Mr. Emil J. Gaudet, 86, of Springview Terrace, Lynn died Sunday at home after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Marjorie C. (Larkin) Gaudet, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage.
Born in Lynn, son of the late Valerie & Alda (Blinn) Gaudet, he was a graduate of St. Jean's High School and was a lifelong resident of the city. He was a U.S. Veteran of WWII, serving aboard the USS Tatem Destroyer in the Pacific Theater and was awarded a Bronze Star during the Okinawa Gunta Operation.
He was employed at General Electric Co. as a Printer for 16 years until his retirement in 1982. After his retirement he was employed at Four Star Printing Co., he was previously employed at the former Dwyer Printing Co. for many years.
He was a communicant of St. Pius V Church, a member of the Destroyer Escort Sailors Assn. a life member of the Sgt. Robert G. Gautreau VFW Post 6535, and served in the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) during the 1930's. He played Baseball for the Lynn City League, was a former Coach & Umpire for the Lynn Little League, and enjoyed Bowling & Horseshoes.
In addition to his wife, he leaves 1 son Edward J. Gaudet of Lynn, 2 daughters Valerie Little & her husband Charles of Atkinson, NH, & Barbara F. Champigny & her husband Robert of Groveland, 1 brother Lawrence Gaudet of Georgetown, 3 sisters Josephine Pascucci of Swampscott, Bernice Bolduc of Danvers, & Catherine D'Entremont of Lynn, his devoted Godchild Nancy Watson & her husband Scott, 5 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
He was brother of the late Luke Gaudet, Thomas Gaudet, Irene Haggerty, Cecelia Morency, & Alice Barnes.
Funeral from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple St., Lynn Thursday at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Pius V Church at 10:30 AM. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
