- Obituary of Lorette Wilkins
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Lorette Monique (Melanson) Wilkins. Lorette died peacefully at her home on August 5, 2014. Born in Saulnierville on March 24, 1918, she was a daughter of Frank Edmond Melanson and Mayatrice (Saulnier) Melanson. She was predeceased by both parents, her sisters, Adele, Flora, Delima Melanson; brother, Conrad Melanson and her husband, Roy Albert Wilkins. She is survived by daughters, Mary Beatrice (Wilkins) Yaciuk of Granville Beach, Flora Katherine (Wilkins) Jenkins of Coquitlam, BC, and Adele Angeline (Wilkins) Thompson of Sandy Bottom Lake. Lorette opened her heart and home to three more children, Maura Doucette, Tanya Doucette and Mearle O'Neal. Lorette was a kind and generous person who loved life. She loved to play the piano, guitar and harmonica. Her family was everything to her and in turn she was everything to them. She received a great deal of joy from all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her love knew no bounds. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched throughout her 96 years. A special thanks to the VON and Dr. Buchholz for their exceptional, kind, compassionate service. They made her final days comfortable. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Friday from the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Annapolis Royal. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on the Parker Mountain Road with Terry Musgreve officiating. Interment will be in the Round Hill Cemetery. Donations in Lorette's memory may be sent to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
