Yarmouth: Sudden death came to take another of our parishioners, Mr. Joseph Dennis Surette, High Street. The deceased began to feel sick while he was work on Monday. He was taken to his home, where the doctor determined that he was suffering from cerebral thrombosis. He was transported to the hospital where he received Last Rites, then he died the next day, March 17th.

Born in Wedgeport on 16 August 1890, he was the son of the late Venant Surette and Perpetue LeBlanc. Besides his wife (Rose Anne Cottreau of Little Brook) he leaves two daughters: Mrs. Anselme Bourque (Jacqueline) of Edmunston, N.B and Celeste at home; three sisters, Mrs. Alcide Cottreau and Mrs. James Doucette of Wedgeport, and Mrs. Rose Anne Robicheau of Meteghan.

The funeral service was held last Thursday at the church and burial was in St. Ambrose Cemetery.

Joseph married Rose Anne Cotreau. Rose was born 3 Jun 1885, Little Brook, Digby County, Nova Scotia, Canada; died 25 Dec 1973, Yarmouth, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia, Canada; was buried , Our Lady Of Calvary Cemetery Yarmouth, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia, Canada . [Group Sheet]

BOURQUE, Jacqueline (Jackie) (nee Surette), 1922-2016. It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of Jacqueline (Jackie) Bourque on Saturday, September 3rd 2016, at the age of 94 in Montreal. Predeceased by her husband Anselm ?Sam? (1920-2009), she will be sadly missed by her children, Yvonne (Gary Dawson), Denis (Sheila Bain), Jocelyne (Jean-Pierre Sarault), Marcel (Patricia Sweeney), Pierre (Marie-Claude Adam), 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and friends. Special thanks to her personal caregivers Anita Payne and June James for the wonderful care provided. A funeral mass will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 29th at Corpus Christi Church, 16 Pacific Avenue, Senneville, Québec. The family will receive condolences after the mass, in the church hall. Burial will take place on Saturday, November 5 at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Forest Street, Yarmouth, N.S. Family and friends are welcome. There will be no visitation in Yarmouth. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Tiny Tim Fund of the Montreal Children?s Hospital Foundation, a favourite of Jackie?s, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
