    Pinkney?s Point: We announce the death of Belmont Ernest Surette, native of Pinkney?s Point, who died the 26th of March at Yarmouth Hospital at the age of 57. He was the son of the late Bartholomew and Theresa (Pothier) Surette. He was a truck driver and a veteran of World War II.

    He leaves in mourning his wife, Jane Robbins; three sons: Ernest, Philippe and Malcolm, all at home; three daughters: Myrna (Mrs. Bernard Cottreau), East Boston, Mass.; Sharon and Joan, both at home; four brothers, Lloyd and Cecil, both of Pinkney?s Point; Vernon of Yarmouth and Eldon of Plymouth; a sister: Iola (Mrs. Delmer Surette), Yarmouth; and four grandchildren.

    The body rested at H. M. Huskilson Funeral Home in Yarmouth. The funeral was held the 29th of March at 10:00 a.m. with funeral service at St-Raphael Church. Father Raoul Deveau officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

    SAULNIER, Anita Jane - 18, Arcadia. Born December 11, 1984, passed away peacefully in Yarmouth Regional Hospital, Sunday, April 13, 2003. Anita, our "Earth Angel" courageously won her 18 year fight with Cystic Fibrosis. Anita attended grade 12 at Yarmouth Consolidated Memorial High School and was a member of Maple Grove/Yarmouth High Memorial Club, and was an employee at Dollarama for the past two years. Anita's spirit and essence brought out the best in everyone, and her love for life had been an inspiration to all who have had the honor of knowing her. She is survived by her mother, Joan Surette; her father, Ernest Saulnier, Tusket; brothers, Ryan Saulnier and Keegan Surette, both at home; maternal grandparents, Jane Surette and the late Belmont Surette, grampy, Ernie Muise; paternal grandparents, Ernest and Rose Saulnier; her best friend, Candace Boudreau; her devoted, loving boyfriend, Ryan Amirault. Anita leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends whose hearts she had touched by her courageous and positive attitude towards life. The family would like to thank all of the nurses, doctors, and hospital staff, as they are a part of our extended family. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Huskilson's Funeral Home, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Melbourne, Father Gerald LeBlanc officiating.     SAULNIER, Ryan Joseph ? age 31, Yarmouth, passed away peacefully, with family at his side, on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at the QE II Health Sciences Centre (VG Site), Halifax. Ryan was a son of Ernest (Marsha) Saulnier and Joan (Andy) Surette. Although afflicted with CF, his disease certainly did not define who Ryan was. Scooty, as he was affectionately known, was an energetic and outgoing guy who loved DJ-ing under the name DJ-Xtreme. He also enjoyed volunteering with the J-Strong Foundation, the CF Foundation, Mariner?s Centre and Eastlink. He was a huge fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs as well as of the Yarmouth Mariners, and he loved wrestling and driving around town on his scooter. Many people will remember Ryan for his smile and his positive outlook on life. Aside from his loving parents, he is survived by his brother, Keegan Williams-Surette, as well as by his maternal grandmother, Jane Surette (Ernie Muise) and his paternal grandmother, Rose Marie Saulnier; his godparents, Myrna Cottreau and Roger Saulnier, in addition to many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Anita Saulnier, as well as by his maternal grandfather, Belmont Surette and his paternal grandfather, Ernest Saulnier. Visitation will take place from 7-9 p.m. Friday, with prayers at 8 p.m. at H.M. Huskilson?s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 12 from Saint Ambrose Co-Cathedral, Yarmouth, Deacon Bruce Hubbard officiating. The service will be live-streamed on Huskilson?s Facebook page. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, seating may be limited at both the visitation and the Cathedral and immediate family will be given priority for seating. Social distancing guidelines must be followed and masks are required at both the funeral home and Cathedral. Interment will follow in St. Raphael Cemetery, Pinkney?s Point. It has been requested that there be family flowers only. Donations towards Ryan?s funeral expenses would be appreciated or memorial donations may be made to the CF Foundation, the J-Strong Foundation or to a charity of choice.
