    • The death of Placide Maillet of Fox Creek occurred Monday at Dr. Georges Dumont Hospital following a long illness. He was 83. Born in Buctouche, he was a son of the late Gilbert and Madelaine (Melanson) Maillet. He retired in 1953 as an employee of CN. His wife, the former Marie Cormier, died in 1968. He is survived by two daughters, Miss Yvonne Maillet of Fox Creek and Mrs. Leonard LeBlanc (Loraine) of Waltham, Mass.; one adopted daughter, Mrs. Arthur LeBlanc (Corinne) of Waltham; one son, Alde Maillet of Fox Creek, two adopted sons, Clifford Gautreau and Jean-Paul Cormier, both of Ontario; four sisters, Mrs. David Allain (Beatrice), Mrs. Pat Pellerin (Yvonne) and Mrs. Alyre Leger (Alida), all of Buctouche and Mrs. Henry Belliveau (Delia), of Dieppe; four brothers, Melas of Chigago, Philorome of Moncton, Albert of Richibucto Village and Leandre Maillet of Buctouche; 21 grandchildren and one great grandchild. The body is resting at Frenette's Funeral Home, Moncton. Fujneral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St Anselme Roman Catholic church with interment in the church cemetery.
