- Obituary for Doris M Richard
Doris M. (LeBlanc) Richard, 91, of 125 Connors Street, Gardner died peacefully, Friday, November 19, 2010 in her residence surrounded by family.
Born in Canada on October 1, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Hector and Bertha (Goodwin) LeBlanc.
Prior to retiring in 1985, Doris was a stitcher employed by the former George Bent Company of Gardner for many years. She was previously employed by Cluet and Peabody Co. of Leominster for 7 years.
Doris was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and its Ladies of St. Anne Society. She was a devout Catholic who enjoyed praying the Rosary.
Doris was an avid seamstress and quilter. She enjoyed knitting, watching game shows on television, bowling, Bingo and playing cards. Doris also loved to travel.
She was predeceased by her husband of 33 years, Joseph E. Richard who died July 7, 1972.
She leaves three sons, Normand J. Richard and his wife Louise of Waltham, Ovila J. Richard and his wife Lucienne of Gardner and Gerard J. Richard of Angier, NC; seven daughters, Ella M. Jones of Baldwinville, Bernice M. Legere and her husband Normand of Gardner, Rita M. Hache and her husband Ronald of Templeton, Bernadette M. Nowlan and her husband Bernard of Gardner, Francine M. Boudreau and her husband Claude of Gardner, Edith M. LeBlanc and her husband Leo of Leominster, Yvette M. Fontaine and her husband Alison of Gardner; six brothers, Donald J. LeBlanc and his wife Beatrice of Gardner, Normand J. LeBlanc and his wife Gloria of Vancouver, Canada, Raymond J. LeBlanc and his wife Yvette of PA, Romeo J. LeBlanc and his wife Florence of Gardner, Leo J. LeBlanc of Templeton and Henrie J. LeBlanc of Moncton, N.B. Canada; three sisters, Thelma M. William of Gardner , Rita M. Maillet and her husband Alphonse of Gardner and Edesse M. Landry and her husband Gerard of Bouctouche, N.B. Canada; two sisters in law, Blanche LeBlanc of Natick and Maria LeBlanc of Moncton, N.B. Canada; twenty eight grandchildren, forty nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two daughters, Yvette Richard and Marie M. Perreault; four brothers, Gerard J. LeBlanc, Charles J. LeBlanc, Jim LeBlanc and Alcide LeBlanc; and two sisters, Maggie M. LeBlanc and Lorina Thatcher.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 23rd from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours in the funeral home will be Monday, November 22nd from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
