- Handrigan, Madeline (nee Kearney)
Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Monday, December 11th, 2000, at the age of 85 years. Predeceased by her husband William, September 1965. Leaving to mourn her three daughters; Joan Laffey (Harold Ash) of New York, Kay (Ernest Pippy), and Helen Marie (Ian Penney); and her son, Michael (Maureen O'Leary), all of St. John's; loving grandchildren; Christopher and Brian Laffey, William and Michael Penney, and Katie and Mary Beth Handrigan; sisters; Vivian Gosse and Margaret Snelgrove (Ron); sisters-in-law; Doris Kearney, May Handrigan; and brother-in-law; Steven Handrigan (Carmel). Also leaving many other relatives and friends, especially special friends; Marg Taylor, Rose Prowse, Madge Dunne and Mary O'Leary. A very special thank-you to the doctors and nursing staff of 4 South A and Dialysis Unit at the Health Sciences Centre and 2 South of the L.A. Miller Center. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 A.M. - 12 Noon, 2-4 and 7-10 P.M.. Funeral Mass on Thursday, December 14th, 2000, at 9:30 A.M. from St. Patrick's Church. Interment to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
