- ATKINSON John Eldon, of Cohasset, formerly of Hingham and Braintree, May 26, 2006, beloved husband of Phyllis Marie (Halloran) Atkinson. Devoted father of Barbara A. Leth of Braintree. Loving grandfather of Barbara A. Nicholas, married to Shawn Nicholas of Weymouth. Great- grandfather of Emily Nicholas of Weymouth. Devoted brother of Edna Hilts, married to Palmer Hilts of Walpole. Uncle of Russell Hilts of Walpole, Cynthia Sullivan of Walpole and Laurie Hayes of Norfolk. He is also survived by 2 cousins. John was the son of the late John J. and Hilda (Johnson) Atkinson. Funeral Service at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington St., BRAINTREE, on Wednesday at 11 a.m. The Funeral Service will be public as well as the Masonic Service to be conducted by the Officers and Members of Delta Lodge AF & AM. The Masonic Service will be held Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. at the fu neral home. The burial which will be held on Wednesday at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton, will be private. Visiting hours at the funeral home Tuesday 4-8 p.m. Memorial dona tions may be sent to the Hospice of the South Shore, 100 Bay State Dr., Braintree, MA 02184. John was a Korean Veteran, having served in the Maritime Service and U.S. Coast Guard.
