Beloved Husband, Father, Son and Brother
WESTMINSTER -- Joseph Y. "Roger" Thibodeau, 66, died Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at the Leominster Hospital, after being stricken ill at home.
He leaves his wife of 38 years, Sandi (Marble) Thibodeau, two daughters, Jill Thibodeau of South Boston, and Megan Thibodeau, of Vancouver B.C.; his mother Helene (Doiron) Thibodeau; four sisters, Phyllis Richard and her husband Omer, Doris Caouette and her husband Cleo, Charlene Daigle and her husband Charlie, and Jocelyn Levasseur, and her husband Yves, all of Gardner, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Roger is predeceased by his father, Edmond Thibodeau.
Roger was born in Chatham, New Brunswick, Canada, on September 6, 1948. He lived in Rogersville, NB Canada, until he was 16. His family moved to Gardner in 1964. He was a 1966 graduate of Gardner High School, and a 1968 graduate of Worcester Industrial Technical Institute. Roger served in the U.S. Air Force as a Sergeant in the Vietnam War from 1968 - 1972. He and Sandi were married on May 1, 1976, and moved to Davis Road in December of 1980. He worked as a Computer Field Service Engineer for Digital, Compact and HP, from 1972 until his retirement in August of 2012. Roger was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Gardner. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and was a Boston Sports Fan.
THIBODEAU -- A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA.
Burial will be Private in the Woodside Cemetery, Westminster, MA.
Calling Hours will be on Friday, December 12, 2014, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., in the Westminster Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 123 Main Street, Westminster, MA 01473.
In Lieu of Flowers, Memorial Contributions can be made in Roger's name to the Forbush Memorial Library, P.O. Box 468, Westminster, MA 01473.
