  Jeanne Marie Cottreau was the daughter of Jean M. Etienne "Johnny" Cottreau and Marie Sara Elizabeth "Sadie" Doucet.[1] She was born February 12, 1904 in Tusket Wedge, Nova Scotia.[2][3] She grew up in the family home located along the East Road[4] in Tusket Wedge.[3] She married Russell Levi Atkinson, the son of James Atkinson and Zilpha Ross, on June 22, 1937 at St. Michael's in Wedgeport, Nova Scotia.[5][3] The couple settled into the home her husband built next door to that of her father's, on the East Road, in Wedgeport.[6][7] The couple had 2 children together:[8]: 1. Leonora Eva "Nora" born in 1939[1] 2. Marie Agnes born in 1943[1] Jeanne Marie died September 19, 1996[1][8], and her funeral was held September 21, 1996 at St. Michael's.
