Our father and hero, Frederick Joseph Moffitt, passed away on February 17, 2017, just 4 short weeks after his beloved wife Evelyn Moffitt departed this life. Four weeks is the longest Fred and Evelyn were apart in their 66 year union and he was clearly broken hearted. Fred was born September 28, 1928, the son of the late Annie Galant and Winslow Moffitt of Calais, Maine.Fred married the love of his life, Evelyn, on November 4, 1950. He raised three children in Franklin Massachusetts while working several jobs to support his family. Fred served our country as a radio operator in the U.S. Air Force and was a proud member of the American Legion. He worked for General Motors in Framingham Massachusetts for 32 years. Fred and Evelyn retired to Elkland Pennsylvania and later resided in Bellingham and Dennisport Massachusetts. They relocated to Fort Myers Florida to be close to family in 2011. Fred was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to family. He enjoyed visiting casinos and playing slot machines, ?ding ding? as he would call it, taking Evelyn on daily shopping trips, scratching lottery tickets, and solving the most challenging jigsaw puzzles. Fred often surprised his children with gifts ?just because? resulting in great memories and often providing life lessons. Fred?s greatest passion was taking care of his wife Evelyn. They were always together and he took great pride in showing his ?Boopsie? off. Fred and Evelyn loved their pets over the years including Candy, Blackie, Buffy, Inky, and most recently Scooby and Tabby.Fred is survived by his children and their spouses; Darlene Guerrero of North Fort Myers, Florida, Dr. Tisa Morrissette and Jacques of Fort Myers, Florida, and Dr. Brian Moffitt and Juan Pablo Diez Chavez of Cape Coral, Florida, two granddaughters Jennifer Eloge of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Aimee Morrissette of Palm Coast, Florida; several great grandchildren, Nathanial, Andrew, and Samuel Couture, Brianna Eloge, and Everly Paley.
