- ry Margaret (Peggy) Faron Wurtz died at home on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 after a brief illness. Born March 10, 1930 to Joseph and Leabelle (Dionne) Faron in Mapleville, Rhode Island, she spent her childhood in Rhode Island and Connecticut. Peggy graduated in 1947 from St. Clare High School in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, and moved with her parents and sisters to the Tacoma, WA area in 1948. Peggy met Adam Wurtz at a dance in the Evergreen Ballroom, and the couple shared the dance floor of life for the next 60 years. They were married in St. Benedict?s Catholic Church in Spanaway, WA on September 5, 1951. Peggy not only married Adam, but the United States Air Force, and the couple were stationed in England, Spokane, Japan, and Montana before Adam retired from the military in 1966 and they moved to Yakima with their brood of 6 children. The couple raised their children in Yakima and moved to Selah in 1983. Peggy loved God and her family. She was absolute in her faith and her love and was a wonderful example to her family and anyone blessed enough to be a part of her life. She worked in retail most of her life to help support the family and to make sure the children could attend Catholic schools, but always had time for anyone in need of a hug, shoulder, or listening ear. She made living on a shoestring budget seem almost easy and could make the miracle of the loaves and fish look like child?s play. Often a group would arrive without warning and she could happily, and seemingly without effort, put together a feast from what appeared to be a nearly empty pantry and fridge. No one left her home without a delicious meal and a warm smile. Peggy?s family soon grew to include her children?s spouses and her grandchildren. She was dubbed ?Hungry Grandma? by a grandson because she asked anyone who came to her home if they were hungry and always had a child?s and grandchild?s favorite food on hand when they arrived. She made everyone feel like family and feel loved, and she did so with a sincere heart and loving hands. Peggy was devoted to Adam and lovingly cared for him during their nearly 60 years of marriage even during his difficult final months. She never complained and never lost her temper during the most trying times. Her acceptance of God?s will was a beacon for the world and God?s love was reflected in the simple things she did every day. Peggy is survived by her children, Theresa Rowe of Tumwater and Terry?s children Sean, Steve, Mike, and Summer; Mary Wurtz of Selah, and her daughter Laura; Adam Wurtz, Jr, (Bridget) of Hanover, PA and their children Adam III, Zachary, Joseph, Megan, and Jacob; Joseph Wurtz (Jean) of Yakima and their children Jason, Angie, and Ben; Robert Wurtz of Selah, and Catherine Hoppis (Jeff) of Selah and their children Spencer and Maddy. She was also delighted to claim 21 great-grandchildren. Peggy also leaves behind 3 sisters, Patricia (Trish) and Marjorie (Mudge) of Tacoma, and Elaine of Selah and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Adam, her parents, and a sister, Francis. Peggy was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Selah, and YLI. Visitation will Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home, 1010 West Yakima Avenue, Yakima, WA from 4-6 PM, followed by recitation of the Rosary. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1107 West Fremont Avenue, Selah, WA at 11 AM, Monday, September 9, 2013 followed by a reception in the parish hall. The funeral procession will proceed at 1:45 to Calvary Cemetery 1405 South 24th Avenue, Yakima, WA. ?Love is patient, is kind; Love does not envy, is not pretentious, and is not puffed up. Love is not ambitious, is not self-seeking, and is not provoked. Love thinks no evil, does not rejoice over wickedness, but rejoices with the truth.
