    • GAUDET, Austin A. ? Age 66, of Grosses Coques, passed away peacefully, Thursday, March 20, 2014, in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Concession, he was a son of the late Remi and Emilie (Boudreau) Gaudet. He had a passion for ox pull competitions having won the North American Championship two years in a row amongst many other awards. He was an avid deer hunter. In his later working years he co-owned and operated an excavation operation with some of his brothers. He is survived by his loving wife, Rose Marie Gaudet, Grosses Coques, who was always there by his side through his illness; son, Paul (Joan), Concession; daughters, Nicole (Curtis), Melbourne; Ann (Darren), Grosses Coques; Tina, Grosses Coques; brothers, Hubert, Grosses Coques; Wayne, Church Point; Earl , Ray both of Concession; Bobby, Meteghan Centre; sister, Ruth Blinn, Major?s Point; grandchildren, Jean-Marc, Josette, Rhéal, Marie-Claude, Noëlle, Michael; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, Victor. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Meteghan Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Monday, March 24, at 10 a.m. in Emmanuel Baptist Church, Belliveau Cove, officiated by Pastor Pernell Muise. Burial to follow in St. Mary?s Cemetery, Church Point. Donations may be made to Victorian Order of Nurses or the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
