- Obituary for Janice Elizabeth O'Grady (Horner)
Janice Elizabeth O?Grady, 72 of Hudson, NH died Monday August 24, 2015 at the Courville Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
Born April 17, 1943 in Everett, MA, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Rose (Upton) Horner and wife of Thomas O?Grady, of Hudson. Janice was also predeceased by one sister, Judith Horner, one uncle, Rev. Arnold Horner, aunts: Mildred Green and her husband Joseph Green, Celia Quirk and her husband James Quirk and cousin, Jacqueline Quirk.
Janice was a graduate of Everett High School. Upon graduating, she started her career in social services by volunteering at the United Way. From there, she went on to work with special needs children at the former Mount Hope School in Nashua until its closing , after which she went to work with special needs adults as a vocational coordinator for twenty years at the PLUS Company in Nashua.
Janice enjoyed traveling with her husband, but most of all, her life passion was social services; helping others as well as her children and grandchildren.
Besides her husband, survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Brian O?Grady and his wife, Cathy, of Watertown, MA; one daughter and son-in-law, Julie Tully and her husband Eric, of Amherst, NH; four grandchildren, as well as several cousins and friends.
SERVICES: Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 5:00 ? 7:00 PM at the Davis Funeral Home, 1Lock St. Nashua, NH 03064. A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday at 11:30 AM in St. Kathryn Church, 4 Dracut Rd., Hudson, NH 03051. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may meet at the church. Burial will follow at Edgewood Cemetery in Nashua. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Janice?s loving memory to Alzheimer?s Association, Massachusetts/New Hampshire chapter, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
