HALLEY, John Joseph - Passed away peacefully, at his residence, on Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at the
age of 83.Cherished husband of Sheila (McCarthy) Halley of Kitchener, formerly of Topsail,
Newfoundland . Loving father of Linda Courtney and her husband Desmond of Goderich, Donna Wills
and her husband Mark of St. George and John Halley and his fiancee Maryna of Kiev. Loved "Poppa"
of Sheila, Leo, Desm ond, Kevin, Kathleen, Leah, Lauren and great-grandfather of Nicholas and
Linda; dear brother of Theresa Barrett of Blyth. Predeceased by his parents, Edward and Theresa
Halley; his brothers, Alex, Dou glas, Neddie, Thomas and Patrick and by two sisters, Madeline and
Margaret. John served during the Second World War from 1940 to 1945 with the 59th Newfoundland
Regiment. # 971024. John's family wil l receive friends and relatives at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral
Home and Cremation Centre, 621 King St. W., Kitchener on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Family
prayers will be offered at the funeral home on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003 at 9:30 A.M. followed by Mass
of Christian Burial at St. Teresa's RC Church, 44 Leonard St., Kitchener at 10 A.M., with Rev. David
Lewis officiating. Interment at Woodland C emetery, Kitchener donations to the War Amps CHAMP
Program or St. Teresa's RC Church Building Fund would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy
