Notes - "They resided in Lebanon, Conn., Horton, N.S., moved to Machias, Maine, in 1769, and finally settled in Jonesboro, Maine.
Wiliam served in the Revolutionary War from Machias from 1 March 1776 to 1 March 1777, and from 4 Dec. 1778 to 4 Jan 1779. (Mass. State Archives.) He was a surveyor, and mapped much of Cornwallis and Horton in Nova Scotia. he became the first town clerk of Machias and the first postmaster of Jonesboro.
