Roger Kuessey was a young Irish refugee captured by the British.. He arrived in Port Royal in 1665. He was the pioneer family of the Caissy name in Acadia. Between 1676 and 1678, he settled in Beaubassin, Acadia. He is said to have planted the first fruit trees at a place which is called today ?Bute a?Roger.? Some of Roger?s descendents took the surname Roger (Catherine Roger in chart). He was said to by Irish, but ?became? Acadian.

Jeanne Cabrat's first husband was Jehan Poirier (born about 1626 in France), who arrived in Nova Scotia about 1636 with a group of people from France, including Guillaume I Blanchard (born about 1590 in France). Guillaume I Blanchard was married to Huguette II Poirier (born about 1593 in France); and she was the full-blood sister of Jehan Poirier (born about 1626 in France). (See "Acadian Descendants," by Janet B. Jehn). Jehan Poirier (born about 1626 in France) died about 1652. His widow, Jeanne Chabrat (born 5 Feb 1627 in France), and her second husband, Antoine Gougeon (born about 1626 in France), had a daughter named Huguette II Agathe Gougeon or Gagean (born about Dec 1657 in Port Royal, Nova Scotia, Canada).
