Wedgeport: We announce the death of Chester Louis Atkinson, native of Comeau's Hill, occurred on Friday, May 24th following an accident involving a pedestrian and a car in Wedgeport at the age of 65. He was the son of the late Russell Atkinson and Philomène DeViller. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 6505, in Wedgeport. He leaves to mourn, other than his wife, Rose Marie LeBlanc, a daughter, Karen Surette of Wedgeport; two sons, Ricky of Charlottetown and Chris of Wedgeport; his step-mother, Jennie of Nakile Home in Glenwood; as well as two brothers, Owen of Wedgeport and Felton of Plymouth; five sisters, Rose Marie Surette and Rose Emma Nickerson of Wedgeport, Corinne (Mrs. Gerald MacKenzie) of Raynardton and Leonora (Mrs. Henry d'Entremont) and Agnes Jamieson of Pubnico and four grandchildren.

Wedgeport - We regret to announce the death of Russell Atkinson of this village who died at the Yarmouth Hospital in the afternoon on November 1st, at the age of 74. The deceased was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Atkinson of Clark's Harbour, County of Shelburne. He leaves to mourn his wife, born Jennie Cottreau; three sons, Owen, Chester and Felton, all of Wedgeport; two daughters, Mrs. Henri E. d'Entremont, Leonora, and Mrs. Agnes d'Eon of Middle West Pubnico; one brother, Rupert, of Clark's Harbour; one sister, Mrs. Russell Hopkins, Rita, of Clark's Harbour. By his first marriage, he also leaves three daughters, Mrs. Richard Surette, Rose Marie, of Wedgeport; Mrs. Edward Nickerson, Rose Emma, of Wedgeport; Mrs. Gerald MacKenzie, Corinne, in Belgium. He was grandfather of 25 children. The funeral was held at Saint Michael's Church on Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m., with mass celebrated by Father Edouard Thériault, priest.

He leaves in profound mourning his wife, very ill, formerly Delia Doucet of Wedgeport; two daughters, Rev. Sr. Jean André of Bathurst and Mrs. Ben Muise (Edith) of Wakefield, Mass.; four sons, Jerôme and Roger of Melrose, Mass.; Nérie of Wakefield, Mass., and Fred at home; also three sisters: Mrs. Clarence Frost and Mrs. Marie Jeanne Pothier of Comeau's Hill and Mrs. Thomas Germaine of Roxbury, Mass., and one brother Arthur of Wakefield, Mass. The funeral was held in Comeau's Hill with service an grand requiem mass at Saint Gabriel's Church, Rev. Father LeBlanc, Priest, officiated. Our sympathies to the family.
