    Arrowsmith, brothers: Paddy, Vick, Teddy (Joan), Phonse (Josephine), son-in-law Andrew Mulcahy.
    Leaving to mourn his loss his loving and devoted wife Mary; daughters: Josephine (Glen Carter),
    Martina (Jeffrey Duff); sons; Terry (Grace), Tommy (Yvonne), Edward (Brenda Komick); cherished grandchildren whom he loved more than life itself: Amanda,

    Brianna Duff. Also leaving to mourn sister Agnes Hayes; sisters-in-law: Leonce O'Brien, Angela
    O'Brien, Lizzie Carew; brother-in-law Gerry Arrowsmith; special niece and life long friend Patsy
    (Rupert) Byrne; special nephews: Pat (Lucille) O'Brien, Aiden (Arlene) O'Brien, Phonse (Loretta)
    O'Brien and a large circle of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Resting at Ryan's Funeral
    Home, Bay Bulls. Visitation Wednesday, May 12th from 3 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Thursday, May 13th from
    2 p.m. - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial from St. Patrick's R.C. Church, Witless Bay, on Friday, May
    14th at 1:30 p.m. Interment to follow at Holy Cross R.C. Cemetery, Witless Bay. Flowers gratefully
    accepted or donations to a charity of one's choice.

    January 17, 1879 (Friday) Married At Portugal Cove, on Sunday last, by the Very Rev.
    Archdeacon O'CONNOR, P.P., V.G., Mr. EDWARD BRINE, of Topsail, to MARY, eldest
    daughter of Mr. THOMAS Stapleton, of Horse Cove.
    Children Jon T, Mary Peter , Peter J and Leonard died in infancy.
    Edward was killed by being kicked by his a horse. He was only 44 years old, and he left Mary
    his wife with a large family of 6 including my grandmother and her twin brother Andrew who
    were only four months old at the time of his death.
    Story in the Evening Telegram and Newfoundland Hearld in 1895. This was recently
    printed (Aug. 15, 2008) in the Shoreline local Newspaper of CBS. Artilce was entered by a
    Mr. Howard Brown.

    Edward married Mary Stapleton 11 Jan 1879, Holy Rosary Parish, Portugal Cove, Newfoundland, Canada. Mary (daughter of Thomas Stapleton and Jane Percell) was born 15 May 1858, Horse Cove (St. Thomas) Conception Bay, Newfoundland, Canada; died 9 Feb 1947, Topsail, Conception Bay, Newfoundland, CA.     Mary was buried on a Sunday and there were mounds of snow on this February 5, l947, She was 93
    years old.
    A Horse and Carriage from St. John came into Topsail and took her to the graveyard. People walked
    behind the horse and carriage to the graveyard. House still stands and is occupied by a young
    family , son of Jimmy Philip's second wife. Jimmy was married to Jean O'Brien, daughter of Jean
    and Andrew O'Brien, Mary's son, who occupied the house until their passing.
