A native of Weeks Island and a resident of New Iberia, Lennis Joseph Olivier, Jr. was born on June 25, 1933. Mr. Lennis proudly served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean War, and he was a longtime member of the VFW Post 1984 in New Iberia. He worked as a heavy equipment operator with several companies throughout his career, such as Tuboscope, Freeze Construction Company and Mike Foster Construction and then worked as a security guard after retirement. He loved going fishing and crabbing, rabbit hunting, raising beagles, camping, cooking homemade pizza, sitting on the porch drinking beer, and riding his golf cart. Mr. Olivier was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend who will be deeply missed.
Mr. Olivier is survived by his loving wife of nearly 62 years, Rozetta Dugas Olivier; three daughters, Pamela Fremin and husband Courtney Fremin, Kim Trahan husband Phillip Trahan, Penny Olivier and companion Dwight Crochet; two sons, Lennis Olivier, III and wife Pamela Pepper, and Kevin Olivier, all of New Iberia; 16 grandchildren, Courtney Olivier, Kara F. Merritt, Brittney F. Rogers, Cameron Fremin, Brandy T. Bouy, Phillip Trahan II, Jennifer T. Blanchard, Holly T. Bonin, Cody Olivier, Amber O. Crochet, Lennis (Joey) Olivier IV, Marcelite (Marci) Olivier, Trey Olivier, Kayley Olivier, Justin Olivier, Nickolas Olivier; and four step grandchildren, Brittney Guidroz, Lyndsey Guidroz, Kerry Guidroz and Courtney Taylor; 24 great grandchildren; and 14 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lennis J. Olivier Sr. and Olive Barrilleaux Olivier, and his grandson, Dayne Olivier; and his three sisters, Geraldine O. Miller, Elaine O. Fontenot, and Billie O. Parro.
Lennis married Rozetta Dugas 1961. Rozetta was born 6 May 1938; died 7 Jan 2021, Lafayette, Lafayette Parish, Louisiana, USA; was buried , Cremated, Specifically: Burial at a later date. [Group Sheet]

New Iberia - A gathering of family and friends will be from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Rozetta "Rosie" Olivier, 82, who passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021, in Lafayette.
A rosary will be prayed at 2:00 pm on Tuesday.
Entombment will be at a later date.
A lifelong resident of New Iberia, Rozetta "Rosie" Dugas Olivier was born on May 6, 1938 to the late Moise and Marcelite Hebert Dugas. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker, and she enjoyed camping, bingo, riding motorcycles, talking to people, and playing Bourre'. She was feisty and spicy and liked to have fun, and what she cherished most was time spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rosie will be deeply missed.
Mrs. Olivier is survived by daughters, Pamela Fremin and husband Courtney Fremin, Kim Trahan and husband Phillip Trahan, Penny Olivier and companion Dwight Crochet; sons, Lennis Olivier, III and wife Pamela Pepper, and Kevin Olivier; 16 grandchildren, Courtney Olivier, Kara F. Merritt, Brittney F. Rogers, Cameron Fremin, Brandy T. Bouy, Phillip Trahan II, Jennifer T. Blanchard, Holly T. Bonin, Cody Olivier, Amber O. Crochet, Lennis "Joey" Olivier IV, Marcelite "Marci" Olivier, Trey Olivier, Kayley Olivier, Justin Olivier, Nickolas Olivier; 24 great-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 15 step-great-grandchildren; 5 siblings, Betty Romero, Dianne Wyant and husband Lyle Wyant, Joy Rita "Mickey" Bonin , Martin Dugas and wife Adele Dugas, and Carroll Dugas and wife Ruby Dugas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Lennis Joseph Olivier, Jr.; a grandson, Dayne Christopher Olivier; and 2 siblings, Harold Dugas and Vicky Dugas.
